This successful global Consultancy have an exciting growth mandate where they plan to double the size of the organisation over the next 7 years. Our client is recognised for being specialist boutique Consultancy in their performance improvement/business turnaround market. They are growing and presenting great opportunities as a result.
Currently top heavy with high utilisation, the Performance Improvement practice has just had a really good year! They are now creating a diamond shape to allow for promotions.
The difference between this Consultancy and some of the bigger consultancies is that there is no more audit channel – they do things now!
For their senior business model they need a hands on Director level individual able to deliver.
The business is performance improvement – how to keep companies in business and wealthy. Looking at areas such as cost reduction, restructuring, M&A -making P&L as efficient as possible or the implementation of a new operational strategy. Fundamental projects are looking at companies in distress, underperforming – change them into performing.
Your role will be a delivery role - to take out the complexity and to turn things around.

This position is a very ‘hands on’ delivery role. Working in teams of 2-3 per engagement. They are looking for someone mature in attitude, entrepreneurial, ‘impactful’, able to get things done and take the client over the finishing line. You will be the key link in the project and must be able to manage the workable workstreams and projects
You need to be someone want to push to achieve better and on projects you will always be working with ‘C’ level – ie COO/CFO/Chief Strategy Officer.
The role is intellectually stimulating and to be successful we need you to have a mix of leadership, operational experience from industry and a leading Consultancy background (this is a 'must) . It is essential that you are used to working in a corporate finance environment with M&A, or restructuring at a senior to have the level of impact required.
Obviously you will need solid performance improvement experience to be successful at this level.
Sector agnostic – ideally you will have worked in a sector with a ‘product’. Sectors of interest are automotive, consumer goods & retail (supply chain), aerospace and defence, manufacturing, engineering, mining and oil & gas sectors.
To be right for the role:
We need you to be a thought leader and have expertise from working at a top tier Consulting firm where you have worked on performance improvement, in a M&A/deal environment and have excellent financial analysis expertise. This is together with having worked in a similar performance improvement role in industry. Your academics need to be first rate – ideally with an MBA. To be right for this role you will need to be already Director elsewhere.
You do need to have studied at leading institution and an ‘engineering’ type of degree would certainly be beneficial.
Languages would be very useful too - which could be any of Italian, German, French & Spanish. Flexibility is required for European travel with the role. You must have a passport where you can live permanently in the UK and travel freely in Europe.

Salary will be highly competitive + benefits + uncapped bonus (received 50% last year)
